Greenpower Mobility: 11 Things You're Not Doing
Greenpower Mobility – All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Greenpower designs and builds, as well as distributes a range of low-floor and high-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses, cargo buses, and shuttles. EV Star is a highly customizable zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America conforming. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair accessibility. It also has cargo delivery options. EV Star GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, which include lower-floor and high-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate many different upfits and bodies for multiple applications. go green mobility scooters allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and lower center of gravity, which results in higher payload to range ratios. The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated trucks of class 4' one interior wall structure, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allow for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a world-class payload to range ratio for zero-emission passenger and cargo transportation.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging up to 75 kW. We were able to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours. We found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. The ride is smooth on ruts and bumps, while the EV9 does an excellent job of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow “one-pedal driving” simply by taking off the accelerator. The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged in three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode is a great way to increase the torque as well as cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are fun to drive and offer an unique experience for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before. GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles which include a multi-purpose electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit vanpool, bus or a paratransit vehicle. GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it goes on its demonstration tour in later this year. We'll be sure to provide more information on this amazing electric vehicle!
